Early Access Launch
Hytale is releasing into Early Access in its truest form: unpolished and incomplete, but with a foundation for something extraordinary.
The game is now in the hands of the community to help shape it into the forever game deserved.
Development secured with the team working hard and demonstrating the game's potential despite being a rough and unfinished Early Access build.
In just eight weeks, the team worked on a 4+ year-old build of the game, merged hundreds of branches, fixed core systems such as camera, movement, combat, crafting, building, audio, and rendering, squashed thousands of bugs, and added numerous new features.
What's IN Early Access
Exploration Mode
An exploration-focused experience built with current content and systems:
- ▸Discover an infinite, procedurally generated world filled with beautiful biomes, ancient structures, friendly creatures, and dangerous monsters
- ▸Explore, build a home, grow crops, craft items and equipment, and play with your friends
- ▸Find the Forgotten Temple and uncover the first elements of the Cursebreaker story arc, which will unfold further in future updates
- ▸The mantling feature lets you navigate the world with a greater feeling of freedom and control
- ▸Expect a unified progression and crafting system that encourages you to explore the world
- ▸Inventories are expandable, workbenches are upgradable and can interact with nearby storage
- ▸Specialized crafting stations that give easy access to hundreds of different types of blocks, furniture, and decorations
- ▸Introduce the Ancient Gateway: A device that you can craft and place down at your home, allowing you to venture into unstable, temporary worlds called Fragments of Orbis
- ▸The Memories system will reward you for exploring and interacting with the different creatures and factions of the game, allowing you to collect memories that must be returned to The Heart of Orbis, unlocking permanent rewards and upgrades for everyone in your world
- ▸Experience fun high mobility combat with a selection of diverse weapons, each with their own unique abilities
- ▸Engage with a farming system featuring a wide variety of crops and plants, which you can turn into consumables like food and potions to help you with your adventures
Creative Mode
In-game and standalone tools for creators:
- ▸Unique features to help creators with making models, creating builds, and making custom maps
- ▸Block rotation, previews, and connected block textures
- ▸Entity tools for creators to go wild with their creations
Modding Support
- ▸Extensive modding capabilities, asset pack management, assets editor, worldgen editors, and other tools
- ▸Support for big projects and long-term content creation
- ▸Partnerships with Blockbench and CurseForge to allow support for modding on Day 1
Multiplayer Support
- ▸Multiplayer support for all modes (Exploration and Creative)
Services & Technical Foundation
- ▸Stronger technical foundation including performance improvements, robust server systems, and UI and audio frameworks
- ▸New launcher, patching system, account management services, store integration, telemetry, and backend systems designed to support scale and live operations
