Update 2 expands customization, rebalances progression, improves worldgen templates, and delivers broad UI, farming, audio, and stability fixes. It also introduces server-side update tooling for managed deployments.

Key Changes

  • Added new face accessories and mouth options, plus additional cosmetic color variants
  • Added multiple blindfold and bandage variants, and a new bandit mask variant
  • Updated visuals for several hairstyles and improved cape run animations
  • Added armor visibility toggles beside equipped armor, with host controls for rulesets

Gameplay Adjustments

  • Added a necromancy item that raises skeletal minions from nearby bone piles
  • Necromancy item can drop from the large Praetorian Skeleton
  • Adamantite now requires Thorium or Cobalt pickaxes
  • Lower tier pickaxes deal far less damage to higher tier ore blocks
  • Higher tier pickaxes significantly reduce hits required to mine ore
  • Buffed polar bears and adjusted Magma Toad attack patterns with a headbutt
  • Added additional decorative light recipes at the furniture bench
  • Bison, boar, cow, horse, and warthog now drop Medium Hide

World Generation

  • WorldGen V2 prepared for public documentation and modding reference
  • Added Default_Flat and Default_Void templates using WorldGen V2
  • Creative Hub Portal now spawns with V2 flat worldgen in new creative worlds
  • Refactored ore placement across all zones; explore new chunks to see changes
  • Increased ore density, especially in Devastated Lands underground areas

Farming

  • Eternal crops no longer break from accidental weapon damage
  • Increased tilled soil lifetime to roughly 1.2 to 1.5 days
  • Fixed soil decay under fully grown crops
  • Torches can be held in the offhand while using the hoe and seeds
  • Breaking fully grown eternal crops returns their seeds
  • Harvested crops can be placed on the ground when crouching
  • Hoe recipe costs and tier unlocks adjusted; Copper now Tier 2, Iron Tier 4
  • Added Thorium hoe tier at Tier 6
  • Petals now craftable from renewable resources; lighter cloth variants craftable with petals

UI & UX

  • Improved editor block tooltip descriptions
  • Avatar customization tooltips now show color names on hover
  • Increased hotbar active-slot contrast with a diamond indicator
  • Memory categories in the Heart of Orbis now sort alphabetically
  • Scripted brush filters cleaned up, with new decoration and cave brushes
  • Inventory quick actions now have QERT keybinds and tooltip labels
  • Faster double-click handling in inventory interactions
  • Shift-clicking armor equips it when the slot is empty
  • Added an FPS counter overlay option in General > User Interface
  • Player markers now show on the compass with map/compass visibility toggles
  • Player names always render on the map; height indicators added to compass
  • Added Ophidiophobia accessibility mode to replace snake models
